Episode 136: Find Yourself in the Landscape

A sketchbook with a landscape painting of a pond, held up in front of the pond that has been painted.

Sketching landscapes in your nature journal can help you understand an ecosystem, as well as create your own sense of place and belonging. Get to know your landscape by exploring it on the pages of your nature journal using both words and pictures.

I created a YouTube video of myself responding to this prompt and discovering my own nearby landscapes. You can watch that video here: Find Yourself in the Landscape.

This prompt was inspired by my conversation with Marley Peifer and his Skillshare class about landscapes. You can find Marley’s class here - Dynamic Outdoor Painting: How to Paint Watercolor Landscapes on the Go.

I would love to hear about your own experience with adding landscapes to your journal. You can leave a comment below this post and I will respond.
