In Brisbane, winter is a time for wattles. Around the middle of the year, the landscape is dominated by the bright yellow of different species of Acacia in bloom. I loved creating this piece because the Brisbane golden wattle has always been one of my favourite flowers. This species evokes memories of my childhood spent here in Brisbane, playing outdoors while the air was redolent with the scent of wattle.
