Limited Edition Fine Art Print - Superb Fairywren
I created this piece from a photograph before I had ever seen a superb fairywren in nature. Through the hours spent painting this pair I came to know their colour, shape and details intimately. One day, after finishing the piece, I was taking an afternoon walk in my neighbourhood when a female fairywren flashed past me. I knew her immediately and knew that her mate would be close behind. When I spotted the male, with his bright blue markings, I was so excited, it was like a celebrity sighting! The time I had taken creating the artwork helped me identify and connect with the species.
